Kava je već odavno nezaobilazan dio jutarnje rutine, ali jeste li ikada pomislili da joj dodate sol? Možda zvuči neobično, no ovaj trik postaje sve popularniji na TikToku. Mnogi ljubitelji kave tvrde da sol u kavi može potpuno promijeniti okus i to na bolje!

Kava je prirodno gorka, a sol je poznata po tome što smanjuje gorčinu. Ova jednostavna kombinacija mogla bi biti savršena za sve one koji nisu ljubitelji gorke kave, ali ne žele dodavati previše šećera ili drugih zaslađivača. Na TikToku se pojavio val oduševljenja kad su brojni korisnici podijelili ovaj neobičan recept.

I miss it so much, can’t wait to go back soon but this will do for now. 1/2 cup heavy cream 1 tsp salt 3 tbsp condensed milk 2 tablespoons Robusta coffee grounds 1 cup boiling water, plus more for cooking Make the coffee by placing the grounds into a phin filter cup fitted over a coffee cup. Lightly shake it to even out the grounds before you place the gravity press. Pour 3 to 4 tablespoons boiling water over the grounds to wet them. Wait 30 seconds for it to filter down, then fill the phin filter cup to the top with boiling water, it is usually around ⅓ cup. Cover with the lid and let it slowly drip for 3 to 4 minutes. If you don’t have a phin filter, any espresso maker should work. You need to make ½ cup of espresso and pour it into a coffee cup. Dodavanje soli u kavu nije novost u nekim dijelovima svijeta. U Turskoj se sol koristi kao dio tradicionalnog obreda zaruka; buduća nevjesta poslužuje svom zaručniku slanu kavu kako bi testirala njegovu strpljivost. Također, u Skandinaviji i Tajvanu sol u kavi ima dugu tradiciju, gdje je popularan sea salt coffee, odnosno hladna kava sa slanim kremastim preljevom koja spaja slatke, slane i gorke okuse.

Have you ever thought of adding salt to your coffee? Salted coffee (cà phê muối) is a very popular drink in central Vietnam and it uses salt to amplify the sweetness of the coffee while reducing the overall bitterness to create a perfectly balanced drink. Did you know that robusta beans normally have almost double the amount of caffeine than arabica beans? That’s why Vietnamese coffee hits you so hard! I learned that this high level of caffeine was mostly attributed to a chemical defence adaptation against pests and insects since robusta beans or plants grow at a lower altitude than arabica where pest invasions are more likely. Since caffeine is bitter and Vietnamese coffee is roasted longer to get that distinctive and characteristically deep flavour, some people find it too bold and harsh to drink. Adding a bit of salt works better than sugar to help neutralize the bitterness, create a better texture, and makes the coffee more palatable. It’s not spoons of salt, just a tiny pinch to round everything out! Salted Coffee Recipe (cà phê muốI) • 15g Vietnamese coffee (use the link in my bio!) • 80g hot water (I bloom it first) • 20g sweetened condensed milk • 0.5g salt • 50mL heavy whipping cream (35%)
